Richard C. Cook devoted his 36-year career to public service. He taught history at the Field School in Washington, DC, and served as an analyst for the U.S. Civil Service Commission, Food and Drug Administration, NASA, and the U.S. Treasury Department. He also served in the Jimmy Carter White House as an aide to Esther Peterson, special assistant to the president for consumer affairs.
