2010: Humanity's Choice as Foreseen by Rudolf Steiner

Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) was an Austrian philosopher and esotericist and founder of one of the key modern spiritual movements in the West. He is best known for his books and lectures before and after World War I, when he founded the Anthroposophical Society with its present-day headquarters in Dornach, Switzerland. After World War I, Steiner and his work were criticized viciously by right-wing nationalists in Germany, which caused him to give up his residence in Berlin. Among the critics was Adolf Hitler, who attacked him in print as a traitor to Germany for his efforts to promote peace.

The work of prophetic thinkers like Rudolf Steiner makes clear that the history of humanity proceeds through the evolution of consciousness, where changes take place in the psyche of people well in advance of their outward manifestations. Thus an understanding of what is happening before our eyes is never simple, nor can it be taken at face value. Discernment requires a level of knowledge that can only be achieved through study and insight.

But only an approach that penetrates deeply into human nature allows us to see the real inner causes of events. Such causes can be positive or negative, constructive or destructive. It is the genius and dilemma of man that we can choose which influences we serve. As Steiner prophesied almost a century ago, we appear today to be at a pivotal point where how we make such choices can determine the fate of the world.

It is perfectly clear that we are living in an era of technological achievement that, historically speaking, began just a short time ago. Steiner said what today is accepted as a truism: that the present era arose from discoveries in the 15th century that marked the beginning of the Renaissance, when the intellect of Western man became able systematically to apply the scientific method to phenomena of motion and matter.

The invention that made all else possible was operational by the 1450s: the printing press, first made practical by Johannes Gutenberg of Germany. Over the next four-and-a-half centuries, until the dawn of the 20th, technology surged in every field, but exploded with the near-simultaneous harnessing of electricity and the widespread exploitation of fossil fuels.

The latest phase took place long after Steiner’s death: the use of electrical impulses for high-speed data processing, such that computers are rapidly taking over the human workload. With only slight exaggeration, it can be said that humans are needed less all the time, except to program the computers and keep them humming or to carry out the leftover menial labor that machines cannot yet perform.

The unsolved problem lies in the fact that no one knows how, with declining need for employment, to continue to deliver purchasing power to the jobless masses that businesses require for them to purchase the products which machines can increasingly manufacture on their own. Until now, such purchasing power was delivered through debt-based money creation—consumer lending, mortgages against inflated home prices, etc. The collapse of this system is the cause of the current global recession and has set the stage for the huge disruptions that may come next.

Not all nations have been equal participants in the forging of the modern world that is now in crisis. The best at it have been the British and Americans, whose hegemony was established through several centuries of ruthless empire-building, followed by two world wars during which their Eurasian rivals—mainly Germany, Japan, and the Ottoman Empire—were smashed.

The Anglo-American combination, now with America supplying the muscle, is intertwined with a powerful Zionist element centered in the state of Israel but aligned with dominant domestic influences. What can accurately be called the Anglo-American-Zionist Empire is reaching today for total global domination.

The Asian nations of Japan, India, and even the somewhat restless China, have largely been incorporated into the imperial order. Latin America has long been within the American sphere of influence, and Africa is being re-colonized commercially. The Islamic world has been under imperial attack since Britain and France dismembered the Ottoman Empire after 1918.

Only the enigmatic Russians seem to stand today on the outside looking in, their nation oddly still alive and increasingly powerful after the furious financial assault from the West, leading to the “collapse” of the Soviet Union in the 1990s. This took place when a fall in world oil prices was engineered, causing the Soviet Union to lose access to hard currency.

How have the Anglo-American-Zionists come so far in what is historically such a short period of time? Two features stand out.

The first is state violence: the absolute lack of restraint in the use of weapons of destruction against non-English-speaking peoples, including the ships of war natural to seafarers and genius in the invention and utilization of guns, bombs, airplanes, and missiles. They also pioneered nuclear weapons, which only they have used against a live enemy.

The second is financialization: their ability to generate vast amounts of money through a banking system unrestrained by law, custom, or conscience, one that exercises the power to capitalize phenomenal economic and institutional growth. The basis for this power is a symbiotic relationship between big banking and big government, whereby the former can create money literally out of nothing and charge interest for its use, while loaning the latter sufficient funds to wage its wars and keep the domestic population docile and dependent through spending on social welfare programs.

The impetus for the U.S. government to spend huge amounts of fiat money for financial system bailouts, economic stimuli, etc., skyrocketed after the collapse of the housing bubble in 2007-8. The collapse led to the ongoing worldwide recession which is not and cannot be overcome through conventional means such as Keynesian deficit spending.

The rest of the world has failed to keep up with Anglo-American-Zionist proficiency and were overthrown in the wars cited above. The primary regions that might have challenged the Empire were continental Europe, with its strong historical investment in the rules and procedures of law and government, and Asia, with its spiritual traditions unsuited to unbridled commerce and warfare.

The Anglo-American-Zionists have had no such constraints, ever since King Henry VIII’s epochal break with the Roman Catholic Church in the first half of the 16th century for reasons related to his six successive marriages.

This eliminated the chief obstacle in the Western world—a unified Catholic Europe—to the elevation of greed for gain to the status of a socially-approved imperative for action. The title of the celebrated book published in 1904 by German sociologist Max Weber—The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism—documented the link, if not the identical psychological sources, of the two ideologies.

The Reformation came at a key moment of history, when the technological age was receiving its formative definition. With the Reformation having a geographic base in Great Britain and Northern Europe, the rulers in those regions were able to form lasting alliances with powerful banking families who now were entirely free of the traditional Catholic opposition to usury.

Oddly, Martin Luther also was strongly against usury and other predatory trade practices but did not prevail. With the Reformation, religion as a factor in defining the morality of economics was swept away. The symbol of what now transpired was the Bank of England, established in 1694 with the aid of bankers who had come over from the Netherlands with William of Orange at the time of the Glorious Revolution.

Thus did trade and commerce backed by military might take over the world, with Great Britain at the helm. The industrial revolution made that nation a manufacturing powerhouse as well. When Britain’s power declined, the U.S. was able to step in by rescuing the “Mother Country” from destruction during World Wars I and II.

After World War II, especially with the creation of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank assuring the replacement of the pound with the dollar as the world’s reserve currency, the U.S. maneuvered itself into the driver’s seat. But it was the same Empire, with the same aims and characteristics.

Rudolf Steiner wrote extensively about the three major elements of human life that throughout history have contributed to a balanced and sane existence whenever it could be found. His core idea was known as the Threefold Social Order.

The first element is the economic, defined as the production and distribution of commodities, which obviously prevails today as the controlling force for most societal action.

The second is the legal/governmental, where, says Steiner, the rule of law should have as its first priority the protection of human rights and of fairness and competition in manufacturing and trade.

The third is the spiritual/intellectual/cultural, allowing for the free development of individual human capabilities.

Each of these elements, said Steiner, should function independently within their own spheres. The economic sector should not try to control the government or spiritual institutions, government should not operate businesses, and the spiritual/intellectual/cultural sector, including education at all levels, should be free to propose principles and ideals for the economy and government to implement.

Unfortunately, this model has failed to be observed or even noticed by the vested interests that profit from social paralysis and breakdown.

People today are seeing their rights disappear, not only among nations over which the Anglo-American-Zionists rule politically or commercially, but even among their own domestic populations. The alliance between big banking and the government leaderships it controls throttles the legislatures and the courts where human rights should be defined and protected. Documents like the Magna Carta, the U.S. Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights have been shredded. The legal profession, which should be the social guardian of human rights, sells itself to the highest bidder or acts as the prosecutor for the corporate-owned imperial state.

In the area of spiritual/intellectual/cultural life, we see the increasing standardization of government-run school systems and the suppression of all non-collectivist ideas. We see domination of higher education by corporate-sponsored foundations and think tanks, the co-optation of churches by political players who support the Empire’s wars, and the push for Zionist interests in every policy area. The dumbing-down of the population by financier-owned media have turned the population into the “sheeple.” Such half-human, frightened, and heavily-medicated creatures are fit only for zombie-like obedience to the imperatives of consumerism and militarism.

The importance to human life of efficient economic development, especially given the current world population, cannot and should not be denied. But the problem is not economic development per se. The machine is here to stay. Nor need we be too sentimentally concerned about the rate of consumption, as economic output is naturally self-limiting based on resource availability.

Waste and abuse have their own built-in consequences if people are ignorant enough to brush them aside, and we all have choices in this regard. Perhaps of greater concern should be engineered scarcity, where corporations limit availability of goods and services to root out competition and fix prices.

Even more serious, Steiner wrote, is the lack of balance among the three major aspects of human endeavor, causing the destruction of human dignity and decency everywhere. If anything, conditions have gotten worse since Steiner’s day.

It is the lack of balance that is pathological. It invites control of society by people completely unsuited to exercise it, due to their level of immaturity and lack of truly human qualities. In fact, many of those in charge of the Anglo-American-Zionist Empire seem anti-human in character and have been that way for a very long time. One could even hypothesize, as did Steiner, that many of them are sociopathic or even demonically-possessed.

Steiner pointed out in lectures from the early 1920s that in Great Britain and America these possessed people were managing affairs from behind the scenes through secret societies. From this observation we recognize such organizations contemporary with Steiner as the Round Table and the Society of the Elect, founded in Great Britain by Cecil Rhodes and Lord Nathan Rothschild, and the Council on Foreign Relations, established in the U.S. after World War I by Colonel Edward M. House using Morgan and Rockefeller money. House, we recall, was the power behind the throne during the presidency of Woodrow Wilson, practically becoming Wilson’s “familiar spirit.”

The trajectory the Empire embarked upon almost a century ago has not changed. Today the denouement is at hand. The present situation, unless sufficient numbers of people wake up to the way in which they must act immediately to ensure a balanced social order, including at least some of the controllers themselves, can end only in catastrophe, which Steiner in his writings foresaw.

In my opinion, there are four ways this possible catastrophe could come about–alone or in combination.

One is a third world war, where Russia, China, Iran, and/or other nations would make a stand against the obliteration of what remains of world culture by the Empire.

The second could be a violent worldwide revolution of the masses against all forms of economic injustice.

The third would involve a comprehensive enslavement of mankind by the imperial controllers, using advanced technological means to suppress all remaining vestiges of free thought and independent action.

The fourth may be a widespread collapse resulting in breakdown of economic systems, social anarchy, disintegration of infrastructure, and return to primitive conditions.

The elite of the Empire clearly prefer the third option and are rapidly moving toward it. But they are also well-advanced in preparing for numbers one and two. Number four is more problematical. We see those with available resources now stockpiling supplies, purchasing country property, creating arsenals of weapons, etc. Big business and big government have drawn up elaborate contingency plans, with the military prepared to institute martial law.

Many people, including so-called progressives, make the mistake of believing a fifth option lies in more control of economic, legal, and cultural matters, including education, by government. This puts them at odds with so-called conservatives, who want to reduce government funding for programs that benefit the lower- and middle-income sectors, while augmenting spending on the police and military.

Rudolf Steiner was an opponent of socialism, which as an economic system has been thoroughly discredited. It should also be clear that government involvement in any economic activity means more entrenched bureaucracy, standardization, taxes, court action, accounting overhead, forms, paperwork, police power, and stifling of innovation and initiative.

These are complicated issues, but my own view is that looking to government to rescue us is a historical dead-end and is often just an excuse for the controllers to extend their power. Many believe this is the hidden meaning of the Barack Obama phenomenon.

How else to explain how this unknown Chicago politician with a murky background came out of nowhere to attain the heights of power by repeating a one-word slogan: “Change”? Much of his campaign funding came from the financial sector that benefited when he continued Bush administration programs to bail them out after the crisis of October 2008.

The one major area where I believe government should do an about-face would be to break the monopoly held by big finance on the creation of money out of thin air which they then exploit by lending at interest. This government-chartered privilege is the bedrock of elite control.

I have written about the ways this system should be reformed, including facilitation of mutual credit clearing exchanges and acceptance of local currencies in payment of taxes. But the best way for governments to combine greater human freedom with concrete economic benefits may be through an international basic income guarantee as a means of promoting human dignity while introducing much-needed consumer purchasing power.

Fortunately for humanity, the hellish materialistic ideology that the Empire espouses, from which the tragedies of the 20th and early 21st centuries have proceeded, may be peaking. Today, increasing numbers of people have grown to feel that their being consists of more than their physical bodies or than the mere sum of their lives, in Steiner’s words, “between birth and death.”

The masses worldwide increasingly do not want war and oppose economic exploitation. It may therefore be hoped that what is now unfolding is close to the last wave of the horrible disturbances that take place between epochs.

Thus my own view is that a sixth option exists, which is divine revelation arising in a universe where the loving Creator in which a majority of mankind believes does not abandon His children. It would appear, from many indications, that the revelation Steiner forecast is already in progress. But for individuals to benefit, they must seek and find it, as it does not announce itself on billboards or in infomercials.

Steiner spoke of this revelation as a Second Coming of Christ in the Etheric. I believe this revelation is reflected in the proliferation of teachings and movements that focus on individuals entering within themselves through prayer or meditation in search of inner peace or consolation.

This new revelation may be working its way in the world in very practical ways, but always starting with changes in the psyche. Gradually a new attitude can come alive to displace a viewpoint where people worship the idols of their imagination—money, houses, bodily adornment, the people they want to posses—rather than observe the holy injunctions central to all religions to love God and to love their neighbor as themselves.

The new revelation shows up wherever people are aspiring to assure that what is produced in the area of economics does not belong just to the money-masters but to all people.

It would show itself when the world of law and government minds its own business except to assure equal rights for all, along with fairness and competition in the marketplace.

It manifests through spiritual, intellectual, and cultural striving, where the highest goal is unfettered individual expression of Self- and God-consciousness.

Again, according to Steiner, it is the spiritual sector that should give guidance to the economic and legal ones. Someday it will. A sign this is happening is the rapid growth of instantaneous communication through the internet. Whether spiritual revelation can prevent more disasters from taking place remains to be seen and may depend on how many individuals eschew despair and choose to respond to the signs of the times in new and positive ways.

The world is indeed changing, in ways different from what the imperialists have planned. They may try to wreck the world to prevent these changes, but it won’t work. As Steiner and other prophetic thinkers made clear, at-one-ment is here and now. Nothing else in fact has ever really existed.

  1. Nice to see you back and in top form.

I’ve said it before; I’ll say it again:

    “Richard Cook for President !”

If your ideas were implemented tomorrow, it would save the US. Then the US would probably save the world.

Instead of being the symbol of “the World’s Beacon of Hope and Freedom” brutally smashed forever, the US would take a wonderful place in history, opening up a powerful, free and creative future for the entire human race.

Our thoughts on the way the world is being run appear to be running along the same lines, please visit my group, join if it is good enough for you or refine and comment or adopt into the ‘Cook Plan’ (cult of personality much? its part of planetary consciousness after all, don’t make it your own, that would make it harder for everyone to accept!). You egocentrist ! No offense intended heh ! But seriously, I’d like to know your opinion on my below Facebook group-site too :

  3. “The legal profession, which should be the social guardian of human rights…” Well, lawyers write themselves into the law so they are guaranteed a job for their entire life. They run for political office to enforce these laws. There are enough lawyer jokes to confirm their low status in society. They are reptiles and you can see that by looking into their blank eyes.

  5. We reap what we sow. The history of the Anglo/American Empire is the history of a meglamaniac makiavelian egocentric selfcentered vain powerlusting repressive insanity. Now the power base is getting weaker and the so called elites more impatient.

I agree with your article however the one aspect that I do not agree with is your take on the West being controled by secret societies. Its not about secret groups its about a Secret Religious Belief these people have. They ” the elites ” are part of a dangerous cult. Every generation of them are born into it and have been for centuries.

  6. Nice to see Steiner featured by Mr. Cook. I have purhcased a number of Steiner’s books recently, and they are quite amazing.

Really, nothing we are told today about science is essentially true. We are given a world view that restricts our ability to understand reality.

He did predict the decline of agriculture long ago, and see where we are now. The Earth is not being treated properly, and it is reflected in our de-nourished foods. The consciousness of materiality has taken hold, and it is not spiritual in the least.

He showed us how children are and should be raised. But now, children are treated ensures their spititual enslvement: vaccines at birth and forever more, less breast-feeding, lots of negative inputs during the formative years, changing them forever; schools are dumbed down and do not understand the nature of the child; fast foods and processed foods ruin their health; and the media messages are horrible and more and more pretend to cater to the young while confronting them with hideous content.

  7. Richard,

Thanks for the great read and sharing your gift of mastery of the written word with the world.

This is certainly the most succinct and cohesive explanation of the situation we all currently face I have seen.

I look forward to sharing it with those I care about as well as those I hope to help wake up.

  8. Esotericism aside, what we see playing out is Macht Politik. The question is who plays the chess game of nations? Evidently above the nation state, above the Anglo-American Imperium, is a Cabal. Who are they? What is the nature of the game that they play? I submit we do not know. We guess. We look at the shadows on the wall and speculate. Furthermore, what is the actual objective of the cabal? Mere conquest and domination? Suppose there is truth in a speculation that once there was a Solar System wide civilization that was destroyed in a catastrophe. If only most of this culture were destroyed and the survivors regrouped on this world and off this world what impact then on Macht Politik?

  9. Wow! I’m impressed.
Thank you for the article on Steiner. He deserves to be given exposure. You are one of the few who has done so, whom I have seen on the internet. I didn’t know that Martin Luther was against usury. He couldn’t prevail because the evil had to increase as the age we are living in Steiner calls the 5th post Atlantean age, and man MUST experience evil, and through the experience of evil, man will find the Christ, just as He appeared in the Greco-Roman era through the forces of death (His resurrection). Man at that point was in love with the physical world, the physical body was at its highest point of perfection, architecture was at its most subllime, but man had lost contact with the spiritual world. Men said: “better to be a beggar on earth, than a king in the land of the shades” because he was terrified of death. Death was becoming horrible as man was more and more losing his intuive wisdom from the past. Man needed Christ desperately, so He had to come at that point, between the Greeks and the Romans. Whereas the Greeks were at the point of perfectionof the physical, the Romans went beneath the human, becoming subhuman. One Roman emperor even deified his horse. If Christ hadn’t come, humanity would have been lost.

I don’t understand, however, why you wrote “Anglo-American-Zionist” conspiracy. What does that mean, actually. It seems that zionism is connected with hatred of Israel. Steiner didn’t mention the zionism part, only Anglo-American.

I read an article by an anthroposophist several weeks ago, and she said that Steiner said that the secret societies were told, by communication from mediums who contacted the demonic world, that the way to enslave man was through creating massive debt. That was the tool for the enslavement of man. The debt based money system is the source of most of what is wrong in the world today. It gives huge sums to dangerous psychopaths. And since man is almost completely unaware of the workers of iniquity, that empowers their plans. Only Jesus Christ can clean this mess up.

  10. @ Publius: you wrote…”Evidently above the nation state, above the Anglo-American Imperium, is a Cabal. Who are they?”

The cabal that you’re referring to is the Illuminati…they are the big money powers; Rothschild, Oppenheimer, Warburg, Lazzard, Schiff, Lehman, Loeb, etc.. They are also known as the Hostile Jewish Elite. However, it is the Rothschild crime family that rules them all…they are the eye of the pyramid.

There is no such thing as the “Anglo-American-Zionist” empire…there is only the Jewish-led conspiracy known as the New World Order. The Jews DO NOT share power with the Goyim…they never have and never will.

  11. Since money (gold) is power and flows through the hands of the merchants, is it possible to avoid that with time the money-power of the merchants subdue the politics through the banking? Before us in the Western world, the Greek and also Roman civilizations fell to the usurers too. Perhaps, if the merchants all adhered to a humanist system of value like that of Christianity or Islam but in the modern Western civilization the Jewish merchants are those who became wealth enough to dominate the banking system… Or perhaps the only way out is the absolute monarchy like it was in China, absolute enough to keep the gold reserves in its exclusive hands. Absolute monarchy seems to have some other kind of destructive worms in it. Or maybe the only way to escape the rule of the usurers is that the whole humanity evolve high enough spiritually, as you seem to believe, Mr Cook. Maybe You are right, but do you really think humanity is near this evolutionary level?

“Khazars, a non-Semitic, Asiatic, Mongolian tribal nation who emigrated into Eastern Europe about the first century, who were converted as an entire nation to Judaism in the seventh century by the expanding Russian nation which absorbed the entire Khazar population, and who account for the presence in Eastern Europe of the great numbers of Yiddish-speaking Jews in Russia, Poland, Lithuania, Galatia, Besserabia and Rumania.”

    The Encyclopedia Judaica (1972):
“Khazars, a national group of general Turkic type, independent and sovereign in Eastern Europe between the seventh and tenth centuries C.E. During part of this time the leading Khazars professed Judaism… In spite of the negligible information of an archaeological nature, the presence of Jewish groups and the impact of Jewish ideas in Eastern Europe are considerable during the Middle Ages. Groups have been mentioned as migrating to Central Europe from the East often have been referred to as Khazars, thus making it impossible to overlook the possibility that they originated from within the former Khazar Empire.

The Encyclopedia Judaica, Vol. 10, (1971) relates the following about the Khazars (Chazars):

“Khazars, a national group of general Turkic type, independent and sovereign in Eastern Europe between the seventh and tenth centuries A.D. During part of this time the leading Khazars professed Judaism.”
    (Encyclopedia Judicia, Vol. 10, (1971))

    The Universal Jewish Encyclopedia:
    “Khazars, a medieval people, probably related to the Volga Bulgars, whose ruling class adopted Judaism during the 8th cent. The Khazars seem to have emerged during the 6th cent., from the vast nomadic Hun (Turki) empire which stretched from the steppes of Eastern Europe and the Volga basin to the Chinese frontier. Although it is often claimed that allusions to the Khazars are found as early as 200 C.E., actually they are not mentioned until 627…Most Jewish Historians date the conversion of the Khazar King to Judaism during the first half of this century {A.D.}

Collier’ s Encyclopedia, Volume 14, page 65 states:
“Khazars [kaza'rz], a semi-nomadic tribe of Turkish or Tatar origin who first appeared north of the Caucasus in the early part of the third century…in the Eighth Century Khaghan Bulan decided in favor of the Jews and accepted Judaism for himself and for his people..

  15. Well done! Well done! I agree with almost everything that you’ve written and I appreciate the way you’ve correlated broad changes in history and analyzed what’s happening today in the world. I, too, give a great deal of thought to these matters.

As an American living in China, I see China’s evolving role a little differently than people who are on the outside looking in and haven’t actually lived here long enough to get acclimated and familiar with various trends and recent developments.

China certainly has its capitalist lackeys and a devoted management class prospering on serving the truly wealthy, but that’s not the whole story. Things are done differently in China than anywhere else.

You described China as restless, which is certainly true, but doesn’t quite evoke the reality I’m involved in. What I see is a dynamic, rapidly evolving nation — it’s on the move, and it’s happening. Here in Shandong Province, a commitment has been made to developing alternative sources of energy, both solar and wind power. And they are going to town and doing it on a grand scale and making money at it. People in other countries have been talking about it for some time, but here in China, business people are resourceful, responsive and fast. Things get done here at an incredible pace. They are building a system of high-speed trains so quickly it could take your breath away.

China may appear to have been folded into the prevalent system dominated by the British/U.S./Judeo empire, but appearances can be deceiving, and what’s actually going on here in China is far more complex… and promising.

Although Chinese compete and are often extremely aggressive competitors, they are also better at cooperating with each other in more ways than Americans or other Westerners are capable of doing. If you question this statement, just look at how recent immigrants from China are assisted in getting established in the U.S. by the larger Chinese community in a city like Oakland, California.

Although there are glaring exceptions, generally Chinese do business in other countries with a win-win approach: What do you need from us in exchange for what we want from you? The Chinese have actually been experimenting with different economic systems for the past century. While the focus on developing Shanghai as an international financial center that will help make the yuan an international currency of trade may appear to be just another development bringing China closer to the capitalist model of doing business; in fact, the intent in doing so has been rather the opposite, of freeing China from the downturns manufactured by Western capitalists and opening up other options in economic development with other countries.

We are seeing a manifestation of spiritual, intellectual and cultural striving with the highest goal of unfettered individual expression of Self- and God-consciousness. I find more and more people like this all the time doing wonderful things. Yes, they’re not in power and they’re not making the decisions at the top levels of government, and they usually don’t have that much money. However, these people are powerful, not behind the scenes, but in a deeper dimension that can only be accessed through self-reflection, prayer and meditation. What is happening is a unified energy field of love emerging as more and more people participate by opening their hearts to love, self-healing, and becoming whole.

This unified energy field of love is eminently sane by its very nature of wholeness, and is a powerful check on the insanity of unchecked aggression and exploitation. It’s as though all the goodness inherent in humanity has coalesced and formed a collective oversoul ,which anyone can tap into in order to overcome their fear and act from the highest of motives. It is evolutionary in nature and it is going to save us from our worst selves.

It’s ironic, and I know Christians are not going to accept or like my saying so, but I believe that the light is coming in strongest here in China where people by and large do not have a religion. Organized religions have played a huge role in enslaving people and tricking them into giving away their own power and letting others think for them and intercede on their behalf — when in reality most people are fully capable of doing their own thinking and connecting directly to Source.

I do not like the designation of sheeple, although I understand the frustration of how to understand the passivity we’ve been witnessing among Americans especially, but among people everywhere. Everyone on earth is the embodiment of a long line of ancestors. Most people have been traumatized and deliberately held back from experiencing the full glory of their personhood… for generations upon generations. If their spirit isn’t always broken, it most certainly isn’t being fully expressed either.

What we do have today is a number of wayshowers all over the world, and you’ve touched upon this in your essay. These are people making the way for others to follow, figuring out the steps to take, breaking the path, making it easier for others to come the same way.

We are like skydivers with well-made parachutes, freediving into the unknown.

  16. A truly enlightened and succinct piece of literature and a joy to read.

I can only agree and join you in my hope that the light of God and human goodness will eventually break through the dark storm clouds that humanity finds itself now engulfed in. There is no doubt that we are approaching a peak of some kind simply by recognising and employing Steiners inward examination of the phsyche.

I cant help but feel we are in for a rough transition though. Put in the language of Aleister Crowley – the horses of war restless hoofs can be heard in the stables.

Change will come – come what may.

  17. Dear Richard,

    Just to say thank you!

I am about to build a website, but there is nothing on it yet – in case anyone goes along there to see who this is!

Your idea that everyone have a set income or the means of a roof over their heads, food, education and those basics, is sane, sensible, good.

How much less aggression there would be if human beings were not frightened all the time. How much better and more productive of innovation and art and good things coming out of or from people if they had time to rest, “stand and stare”, have time for imagining.

That will be a good world!

Love to you and thank you again.

If any of you guys care enough to propagate the mode of thought prevalent here, how about RUNNING for elections as independents instead of just ‘sharpening those swords’ on comment forums or blogs?

The resources and wealth of the world, the lands of the world belong to ALL MANKIND and not any government run by Oligarch politicians or proxy Monarchs or neo-colonialists.

Take REAL action and practice what you believe, MAKE others free, run for office to rubberstamp this very freedom into reality!

  20. Excellent essay Richard. You have certainly synthesized a diverse array of salient issues; bringing them together in a very decent composite that offers a great deal of food for thought.

It is not for me to criticize your spiritual beliefs. Far from it. But, I found myself completely with you … only until you got to your 6th option and the “Second Coming of Christ”.

Although I would normally describe myself as a spiritual (or independently religious) person, it is nonetheless my belief that there wasn’t even a “First Coming of Christ”, therefore it would be utterly futile to wish and hope for a “Second”. But, I do acknowledge that America and most Americans are greatly influenced by the slave-based, Protestant creed, and Evangelicalism, and Millennialism … so I can understand where your reasoning and wishes are coming from.

The Dead Sea Scrolls (whose access was long blocked by the Zionists controlling Israel following their capture of East Jerusalem in 1967, where the Scrolls had been stored for many years) have essentially proven that Judaism and the Old Testament (and thus Christianity) is a hoax. The greatest hoax of all time. I am sorry to cause offense, but somebody has to say this kind of thing, else we shall remain attached for ever more to the Zionist / Talmudic drug.

What I am trying to say is that we cannot expect a Supreme Being to intervene on our behalf. By dint of immaturity and a failure to take personal responsibility, allied to our failure to trust each other, we have caused this mess and done untold damage to ourselves. It is therefore we who will have to “bite the bullet” and find the wherewithal to put an end to all that which wantonly perpetuates our problems and suffering for monetary profit. Either we do it, or nobody — or no other-worldly being — will ever do it.

It is my belief we need to go beyond just placing our faith in an unseen Father, and return to the healthy habit of living our lives in a manner that would make all our best ancestors proud. By all means believe in “God” but please make sure that when doing so, you don’t end up mistaking that “God” for Yahweh or JHVH all over again. If you go back far enough, that surely was the initial cause (the spark) of our present troubles! Had we retained our belief in Thor, Odin, and Woden, there would NEVER have been World War’s One and Two.

  21. A significant part of the sixth option (divine revelation) consists of the appearance and spreading of A Course In Miracles. The Course is a self-study text which incorporates the teaching of Christ without the religious dogma and the overtones of church “Christianity” which have caused so much suffering over the centuries. Though Christian in language, the Course is universal in its approach and applicable to people of any or no particular religious persuasion. It does not claim to be the only way to knowledge (gnosis), but may be something which people, who have not yet found their spiritual home, might find helpful.

“Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God.” (Introduction, A Course In Miracles)

I greatly appreciate the many comments this article has brought forward.
At the same time there are some I am not posting. I am not doing so when attack-type-language is used. I try hard in my writings to be reasoned and civil in my language. Even if my views are not those you find agreeable, I do ask you to show some respect for them and for my efforts to find and bring forth truth in a world lacking in both.
In particular, there is no point in my posting comments that express vehement atheism. There are plenty of other places on the internet you can use for that.

  24. There is a Great Spirit. There really can be no doubt if you just look around you. Look out into the universe. Look inside your own universe. So why couldn’t, or why wouldn’t this Great Spirit birth itself onto the earth, as a man, to supersede the Torah/Talmudic nonsense of evil, killing land theft, with a New Testament for man to live by?
And why wouldn’t he tell the people, “I’ll Be Back.” He knew he would have to come back to stop the Torah/Talmudic nonsense of evil, killing land theft one more time…for good.
He is comming. The closer they get to stealing God’s kingdom, the closer HE gets. It is happening right now. That’s a fact and I love watching it. Besides, I won’t be any man’s slave. That man will not be at all safe on the same planet with me. Ever.

Dear Dr. Cook do you ever wonder what the Creator must be thinking about those guys in the military and their black-op helicopters buzzing and chasing something in the wheat fields of England hope to do? Maybe after catching and caging an actual messenger of God they will look to try and interrogate the ‘alien’ by asking why exactly is he drawing circles in wheat fields and what is that white beam of light from heaven all about?

  27. Hi Rick,

I’ve been meaning to share the following with you and others, but until now I haven’t had the time or an excuse to do so. Your article above provides some inspiration, and I happen to have a few spare moments to type it up. One day when I was at the Goodwill, I found an old book, copyright 1973 by Albert Rees, entitled, “The Economics of Work and Pay”. It actually appears to be an old textbook, without any particular axe to grind, except to provide an expanded discussion of the function of work within the general context of modern economics.

Following is an exerpt from Rees’s book which might be of interest regarding “leisure”. My point in presenting it is that “leisure” is not a new concept invented by C.H. Douglas or Richard C. Cook to provide workers with a modern justification for organized sloth. Instead, “leisure” is a generally accepted economic term that denotes any sort of nonmarket activity and implies that such work is as socially necessary as market activity, even if it doesn’t contribute directly to traditional measures of productivity like Gross Domestic Product or the Consumer Price Index.

But as you’re reading Rees’s quote below, I’d like you to keep a couple of other quotes in mind. The first is from Thomas Greco’s new book, “The End of Money, and The Future of Civilization”:

“Those who must earn their livelihood by selling their labor and talents in the market are kept at a disadvantage relative to those who live off returns from their capital” [pg 56].

I admit this is out of context. But it’s also a general economic principle, which Greco illustrates very well and which brings to mind a similar quote by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.:

“Our nation’s adjustment to a new mode of thinking will be facilitated if we realize that for nearly forty years two groups in our society have already been enjoying a guaranteed income. Indeed, it is a symptom of our confused social values that these two groups turn out to be the richest and the poorest. The wealthy who own securities have always had an assured income; and their polar opposite, the relief client, has been guaranteed an income, however minuscule, through welfare benefits.”

With these antagonistic interests in mind, now please look at what Albert Rees has to say about “market” versus “nonmarket” activity and “nonlabor income”:

“The concept of labor force separates market work from all other uses of time, including education and work within the household. It is therefore an oversimplification to view decisions on whether or not to be in the labor force as a choice between work and leisure, where leisure includes only recreation and time for such personal needs as eating and sleeping. Most of the men and single women under age 25 who are not in the labor force are full-time students, and going to school or college is certainly not leisure. Most married women not in the labor force are full-time housekeepers for their own families, and keeping house is hard work. Only among the elderly is leisure the chief alternative to work, since most people over 65 who are not in the labor force are retired. At all ages, but especially among the elderly, some of those not in the labor force are physically unable to work.

“Since most people live in families or households rather than as single individuals, decisions about who is and who is not in the labor force, as well as the related decision about how many hours of work they would like to supply, are best viewed as decisions about how the household divides its total available time between market work and nonmarket activities. Whether the members of the household make these decisions collectively or individually or whether the head make them for the whole household need not concern us here. Presumably there are households that make their decisions in each of these ways, but the nature of decision making within households is not usually considered to be within the realm of economics.

“Decisions about the allocation of time will reflect the total resources of the household., of which the most important are the time of household members of working age and the household’s income from sources other than work. These decisions reflect also the opportunities for market work available to members of the household, including their potential market wage, their comparative advantages in nonmarket activities, and the amount and nature of household work that needs to be performed. An increase in the family’s resources, unaccompanied by any other change in opportunities — such as an inheritance that substantially increases nonlabor income — should reduce total labor supply. Thus it might lead the family to decide that a teenage son should stay in school longer, that the elderly grandfather should retire earlier, or that the working wife should become a full-time homemaker. Underlying the expectation that a rise in nonlabor income tends to reduce participation in the labor force is the assumption that for at least some members of most households, more leisure or more of some other nonmarket activity is preferred to some portion of current market work, and that the higher nonlabor income will make it possible to engage in more of the preferred activity. But this is not to say that there is such disutility attached to all work that in a household whose nonlabor income was very high no one would work.

“A rise in the wage for the market work open to some members of the household may induce more participation by these members. Thus a rise in the salaries of schoolteachers (relative to other wages and prices) should induce some women who have left work to care for their families to return to teaching. They could use some combination of hired domestic help, purchased services, and the reallocation of household duties to other members of the family to make up for the loss of some of their time in the home, or the family could consume somewhat less of the “goods” produced by work in the home, such as a tidy kitchen, home cooking, or a well-kept garden, and instead could consume more market goods.”

So, a rise in nonlabor income could leverage a rise in labor income over time. Not all of Rees’s message was necessary to gather that. But it’s a very interesting piece that I hope to edit for other projects I’m working on. (That is, it’s extremely applicable in many regards and I needed an excuse to type it for future reference. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.)

In any case, a Basic Income Guarantee is an exciting possibility. But what everyone seems to deliberately ignore is that “leisure” is an exclusive entitlement of the wealthy under capitalism, and that the function of unemployment is to discipline the existing workforce and facilitate higher levels of competition in the labor market in order to drive wages down and thereby maximize shareholder value. Reorganizing the workplace cooperatively is the only way to slow or to stop this tendency so that a Basic Income Guarantee can eventually become a real-world possibility. I haven’t finished reading Thomas Greco’s book yet, but I’m already leaning toward the same conclusions regarding his “mutual credit clearing”.

Please don’t misunderstand. By no means do I oppose Greco’s ideas, or King’s or Cook’s. In fact, I think Greco’s ideas are particularly genius, and could work extremely well. I wish we could implement them immediately, and I intend to read his book at least twice and take notes on my next pass through it so I can relay his essential ideas to others. Thomas Greco very effectively details Richard C. Cook’s vision of “credit as a public utility”, and the world will be indebted to them both for centuries to come — because, at some point, their ideas MUST be implemented on a global scale or we’re all dead.

However, I also believe that the functions of money and the functions of production are inseparable. That is to say, one facilitates the other and neither can exist without the other. More importantly, any change in one necessarily effects changes in the other. So we cannot assume, “production is not the problem”, in hopes that a monetary approach will magically “fix” everything that is wrong with our society. Instead, we have to broaden our focus to include a whole universe of problems and possibilities, keeping in mind that the tiniest move we make right now will leverage behemoth results in our collective future.

This is where I would normally launch into a lecture about the virtues of workplace democracy and self-management. But I won’t, for two reasons: 1) because you’ve all probably already heard it either from me or from others, and 2) because environmental issues are also involved which I don’t yet completely understand. Suffice it for me to say that monetary, production and environmental issues are certainly three of the most essential matters for us to consider in building a better world in the 21st Century. They are all interconnected and we can’t change one without changing the other.

As such, these issues directly affect our spiritual relationships with each other and with the world around us, and as Richard C. Cook suggests in his article above:

“The new revelation shows up wherever people are aspiring to assure that what is produced in the area of economics does not belong just to the money-masters but to all people… It manifests through spiritual, intellectual, and cultural striving, where the highest goal is unfettered individual expression of Self- and God-consciousness.”

  28. Hi Richard,

It is nice to see some Anthroposophically inspired writing here in Canada. My only concern with your recent piece is your focus on an alleged Anglo-American-Zionist agenda. I think you make a mistake when you generalize this alliance to the whole of American politics, economics, and culture, as you do. There is no question at the Anglo-American-Zionist alliance is extremely powerful and influential in relation to aspects of American foreign policy, and also to some aspect of American domestic policy. But it does not make sense to generalize this to the whole of American society. Many different forces struggle to control the United States, not merely these ones.

They surround themselves with acolytes and dismiss critics. This attitude has nothing whatever to do with “God”, it is purely the cult mentality at work. 30. I’m delighted to see Rudolf Steiner gaining a wider audience but it’s important to clarify what Steiner actually predicted for our era. The reappearance of Christ in the etheric was expected in the period between Steiner’s death (in 1925) and the middle of the 20th century. What we are experiencing today is the advent of Ahriman (Satan) http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/biblianazar/ahriman.htm
born in a human body in America in the second half of the 20th century and coming to power in the beginning of the third millenium AD. Please read Robert Mason’s essay, linked above. Knowledge is power, forewarned is forearmed and all that…. Otherwise, people run the risk of mistaking Benjamin Creme’s Maitreya or some other fake savior for the real thing.

  31. Excellent article as ever, Mr.Cook. Translating Steiner for the ‘masses’ is a good move, as he is somewhat obscure. I still consider Krishnamurti more accessible and certainly more forthright ;-)

Oh and +1 to tal for pointing people at an excellent, if rather chaotic, ‘safe haven’ resource of fundamental truths at:-

Wherein I would most strongly recommend a deep study of the following three obscure authors:-

    W.G.Carr “Pawns in the Game”
Eustace Mullins “Secrets of the Federal Reserve”
Fritz Springmeier “13 Bloodlines” and “Monarch”

If you can disregard their politics and their agendas and, in one case at least ‘alleged’ felonies, armed with this combined knowledge, mankind can heal itself and get back onto the spiritual path.

This will be of the greatest relief to terrified children everywhere…

  32. I hope you will ask yourself if your interpretation of Rudolf Steiner’s ideas in respect of his views about socialism and the so-called Etheric Christ are entirely accurate? In the first case, before he met his second wife – who introduced him to the Theosophical Society – he lectured in a working man’s college where his friends and colleagues were what we would call left-wing socialists. I am sure that he shared their concerns about the plight of the exploited working men and women of his time; although I would not argue if you had written that he was against totalitarian socialism, rather than using the word socialism as if it means the same thing! In my country (UK) we have been unsuccessfully seeking to maintain a balance between socialism and capitalism through the Welfare State, and it is just as innacurate to describe this as a means of dumbing down the working-class. Americans seem to over-simplify politics, and love conspiracy theories; and you don’t seem to have recognised the alliance between anarchist and socialist thinkers, especially within higher education in Germany and UK, which existed during Rudolf Steiner’s day until Thatcher’s attack on freedom of thought within intellectual circles in the 80′s. Steiner ideas were based on those anarchist views which dominated the 1st International until Karl Marx’s arguments won the day (when he took over the 2nd International Communist Party). The Threefold Social Order is an expression of such existing anarchist thought, just as his ideas about the Etheric-Christ copied the ideas published in THE ROSICRUCIAN COSMO-CONCEPTION (or Mystic Christianity) by a German who called himself Max Heindel. Neither of these facts have yet been recognised by members of the Anthroposophical Society, who seem to believe that Rudolf Steiner was entirely original in these two areas of his thinking. This brings me to my second point; which is that the use of the word “etheric” has been simplified and not placed in separate contexts when used with other words; such as “Etheric-Christ”, “etheric world”, “etheric body”, etheric light” and “etheric matter”. If I quote from Alfred Heidenreich’s lectures in New York (April 22nd and 29th, 1949) you may grasp how his use of various conjunctions using this word have been misapplied and misunderstood: “That moral progress imporves the etheric light we can shed from our own eyes, from our own heads, into the etheric world, to lighten up the Christ. But Rudolf Steiner goes further than that, and makes perhaps the most puzzling, the strangest of his remarks: that there will be times as the century progresses when the etheric Christ assumes such a visible form that He can be seen with physical eyes. It will be only the initiate, he says, who can really see that it is an etheric body.” I must say that by stating that the Christ may not, or cannot, use the modern means of communication to make Himself known, you seem to have totally ignored what Heidenreich has explained on page 43 of the published lecture in 1969 Rudolf Steiner London Press; and he went on to say: “I quoted one sentence… which indicated that there is some kind of etheric materiality, what Steiner called, “etheric matter”. It seems that under certain circumstances it can be so condensed that it assumes the appearance of a physical presence, and the picture we try to describe would nott be complete if we did not mention this. Rudolf Steiner went so far as to say that a figure like this might even appear in an assembly of people and throw an illuminating remark into the discussion. Then it would depart, and nobody would know that it was the Etheric Christ Who had spoken. Steiner spoke very definitely about this.” This fact has also been conveniently ignored by current members of his Society, who refuse to consider the full implications of Rudolf Steiner’s often quite contradictory statements! It would, in my view, be far better to keep an open mind to the question of whether or not the body of a man who may have been invited to speak on modern television is constructed of etheric matter, or not. Unless you are an initiate and can see the light which radiates from a higher initatie, such as the Christ and other members of His Group, then until the time comes when He is asked to prove whether his body is composed of etheric matter, or not, there is no way of knowing the full facts until they are revealed to your (and everybody else’s) astonished eyes; when “all eyes will see Him”. As Rudolf Steiner was obviously mediumistic and has created a sculpture which seems to be the only existing likeness of the Lord Maitreya in existence; then his followers may soon be in a position to compare what they see with that likeness! If it resembles the Lord Maitreya then they may realize that there are four etheric planes of matter which can rightfully be termed “physical” although they are invisible (as finer than gaseous matter) as Steiner has already explained, and so they may even change their rather dogmatic and divisive opinions. As for the so-called Etheric World, no doubt those four sub-planes of etheric matter have their higher harmonics, which are illustrated in diagrams in Alice Bailey’s books, if you wish to investigate this matter further. If so you may grasp the fact that Rudolf Steiner used the word etheric in various ways to mean so many different things, and he was restricted by some equally confusing Rosicrusian diagrams. Unless this matter is explored more thorougly by his followers they will no doubt join the fundamentalists in claiming that Lord Maitreya is the Anti-Christ, which has no doubt caused Rudolf Steiner to turn in his grave and repeat what he said before” “consider with an open mind that you may be mistaken!”

Comment by Alan Collins on October 31, 2011
  33. I understand that as we as humanity progress in time and the more Aquarius influences our universe the more “etheric” our world becomes. In the Pisces era we were – and still are – in the “nadir” or lowest and most crystallized state of matter and we have to evolve with the universe to a higher plane and consciousness.

In fact when using psychedelic drugs like LSD or psilocybin the etheric plane – also called the vital plane of which our etheric or vital body is made of – can temporarily be seen by the user. Steiner describes that plane somewhere as very colorful and in constant motion. I’ve seen it after taking psychedelic drugs when I was a young hippie and I began to understand what Steiner was going on about. This experience also helped me to overcome my atheism and nihilistic world view and started my spiritual search.

As a gnostic Christian I believe that every human has to create his new unperishable etheric body him/herself, the so-called Golden wedding dress of the Alchemists, the New Soul. This new eternal etheric body grows when we can develop Love and truly follow Christ’s teachings of the mount and we will be free of the wheel of endless incarnations.

At a critical point in this development everyone of us will undergo his personal “second coming” of Christ – it is a meeting in our personal aura and not a revelation to a group or mass of people.

The Illuminati apparently plan to stage such a mass “revelation” and when that will happen the real Christians will know it’s fake.

Challenger Disaster

In January 1986 Cook became the first NASA official to testify publicly on the space agency's prior knowledge of flaws in the solid rocket booster O-ring joints that destroyed Challenger and took the lives of its seven astronauts. He told his story in the book Challenger Revealed, published in 2007. Publisher's Weekly wrote of the book: "Easily the most informative and important book on the disaster."

The Cook Plan

What I am calling the 'Cook Plan' is to pay each resident of the U.S. a dividend, by means of vouchers for the necessities of life, in the amount of $1,000 per month per capita starting immediately as our fair share of the resources of the earth and the productivity of the modern industrial economy. The money would then be deposited in a new network of community savings banks to capitalize lending for consumers, small businesses, and family farming.

Omna Last

The Lite in the Heart can be experienced when there is enough Love awareness and a strong enough energy field for consciousness to enter deep within the Heart to the place where the Atma lives, shining more brightly than a million Suns.
